macOS 10.14 Mojave will be available for almost all Macs from mid 2012 onwards, with some exceptions for Mac Pro related to the GPU they mount. • MacBook (Early 2015 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Mid 2012 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Late 2012 or newer)
  • iMac (Late 2012 or newer)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • Mac Pro (Late 2013, plus mid 2010 and mid 2012 models with recommend Metal-capable GPU)

It is clear, especially by observing the Mac Pro family, that the main discriminant is the support of the graphics chip (integrated or discrete) to the 3D Metal libraries. Among other things, for Mac Pro Mid-2012 and Mid-2010, macOS Mojave will come through a dedicated Beta later.

The notes from Apple (you will find in the press release that you find in Source below) are quite clear, but it has already happened in the past that the updates were distributed to a greater number of models. At the moment, let’s say that less than last minute changes, there will be several Macs that will stop at High Sierra, namely:

  • Late 2009 iMac or newer
  • Late 2009 MacBook/MacBook (Retina) or newer
