LG Electronics is promoting its OLED TV business, and ahead of the CES 2018 event, they introduced a new 88-inch OLED display with 7680 x 4320 pixels resolution, which LG says calls it Triple 8 and the largest OLED display.
This is an upgrade to the 77-inch 4K OLED display that LG is selling currently at $20,000, and although it has not announced the price yet, we can guess that It will not be cheap at all. The company added that the important point they made in developing 8K OLED display was to increase the resolution, but not decrease the light of the substrate.
Samsung also has an 88-inch QLED TV, which costs $20,000, but the resolution is only 4K. Even if you buy the LG Triple 8 display, you will not be able to watch 8K contents. 8K videos and movies are still a long way ahead of us.
Not much detail has been spread about the new LG Triple 8 display, but the company is planning to introduce at CES 2018 event in Las Vegas.
