LG G7 ThinQ will be equipped with the controversial notch and, like many other Android manufacturers who have taken this path. It will be possible to hide notch via software in the settings menu. Today this menu has been shown in a first live image, which allows us to learn more about the features present in it and its new mode.
This setting called New Second Screen, a name that recalls the secondary screen introduced initially on the first LG V series. Inside there are several options dedicated to customization, including the possibility to choose the curvature of the virtual rounded corners – an option that allows you to keep them symmetrical with the lower ones, while the other tends to reduce their curvature to a minimum.
Also possible to change the background color for the status bar that should mask the notch. As we can see in the image, there are different shades of color combinations. The description of this mode informs us that customization will only be active on the Home screen and in pre-installed system applications.
In short, it seems that LG has decided to offer some more options for all those who want to hide the notch at the top of the display. It remains to be seen whether these will not end up being even more invasive and inconsistent with the rest of the interface, but this can only be assessed after trying out the LG G7 ThinQ personally.
