Lenovo adds two new and interesting workstations in its ThinkStation Series, designed for professionals looking for powerful computing and systems that are in line with all the latest standards. Two new models including Lenovo Thinkstation P720 and ThinkStation P920 are noteworthy because they use the latest Intel Xeon Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum processors.
These Skylake-SP architecture – based CPUs offer several options to increase performance, including the high number of Core (based on the model) as well as increased memory bandwidth afforded by the six-channel memory, ideal for areas where there is a lot of width of the band.
Lenovo ThinkStation P720 is the smaller of the two workstations, a Dual-Socket system with 12 DDR4-2666 memory slots, 4 hard disk bays, 3 PCIe x16 slots, 1x PCIe x8 + 1x PCIe x4 slot, 1x PCI and 2x M.2 slots.
Lenovo ThinkStation P920, on the other hand, is considerably bigger, and also maintains a Dual-Socket configuration, 16x DDR4-2666 memory slots with 5x PCIe X16 slots. The other features are similar to the ThinkStation P720.
Both the Lenovo workstations will be available in October this year, as of now there are no pricing details, obviously it will be differ depending on the configuration you choose.
