Lenovo Phab 2 Pro with Google Tango 3D Mapping Launched at $499

Do you remember the Google Tango Project, Google has now dropped the name Project Tango, and making it just a Google Tango – short and easy to remember. And now we have the world’s first tango smartphone named Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has been officially announced at the Tech World 2016 in San Francisco. All new Google Project Tango Phone – Phab 2 Pro is running Android 6.0, the interface is quite similar and almost unchanged compared to the original Android. But it has four cameras that include a 16-megapixel RGB camera, a depth camera, a motion tracking camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for Tango’s 3D mapping technology from Google that enables augmented reality (AR) gaming and utilities. Users just have to look through the screen, and you’ll see objects and information overlaid onto the real world. User can also measure objects with just using the Lenovo Tango Phone or visualize furniture like a new table or sofa to see how it looks in your home and you can just play with your virtual pet.

Coming to specifications; the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro sports a massive 6.4-inch 2.5D Curved Glass display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core processsor (Quad 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2GHz A53 CPUs) paired with Adreno 510 GPU. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB with the help of microSD card slot.Lenovo Google Tango
On the camera front, the Phab 2 Pro features a 16-megapixel autofocus primary camera with PDAF, depth of field and, motion tracking sensors for Tango. There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with wide f/2.2 aperture and 1.4μm pixel size for selfies and video chatting. The handset also equipped with a Dynamic Dolby Atmos Audio Technology with 5.1 audio capture, Triple Array Microphones with Active Noise-Cancellation. There is Fingerprint sensor also placed on the back for enhanced security.

The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs in 4050mAh battery with fast charging technology. It has Hybrid Dual SIM on board, including 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and 3.5 mm audio jack as connectivity options.
