Leica announced a new mirrorless camera called Leica CL. The heart of the camera is constituted by a 24.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and the image processor is Master II. It has 10 fps continuous shooting, sensitivity extends from ISO 100 to ISO 50,000. Phase detection autofocus uses 49 points. The Leica CL captures video at a resolution of up to 4K at 30 frames per second.
On the top, enclosed between two ring guides, there is a small display (128 x 58 pixels) showing the main parameters of the shot. On the back, there is a 3-inch fixed LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1.04 million pixels. There is also an electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million points, a magnification of 0.74x and 100% viewfinder coverage.
Leica CL mirrorless camera can record Ultra HD 4K video at 30fps. Obviously, you can also record Full HD videos at 60 frames per second. The body is made of aluminum (top and bottom cover) and magnesium (front and rear case). The dimensions are 131 x 78 x 45 mm with weighs 403 grams (with battery, 353 grams without battery). The Leica BP-DC12 lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 1200mAh, that is rated to capture approximately 220 shots.
The connectivity is quite less: there are actually no audio or video connectors. Without HDMI, microphone input, headphone output or USB ports. To download the shots, you can physically move SD cards (UHS-II cards are supported) or use Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, combined with the iOS and Android device application (also allows remote control). Leica CL can be pre-ordered now via Amazon.com and will be released on December 10th, 2017 with starting price of $3,795.
