Japanese electronics firm Kyocera Phones has launched a new smartphone called Urbano V03. The smartphone will be available in Japan in the coming months, but the price and availability outside of the country is not yet known. Telecom operator KDDI Japan has announced that it will carry the Kyocera Urbano V03, and make it available end of this year. 
The biggest highlight of the Urbano V03 is that it comes with MIL-STD-810G rating that certifies it as dust-proof, drop-proof, shock-proof. It also protects the phone against vibrations, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, immersion, temperature shock, and icing/freezing rain. It also has IPX5 / IPX8, and IP5X certifications which in terms of water resistance means that it can survive immersion in up to 3m of water for 30 minutes.
As for the specifications, the Kyocera Urbano V03 features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor that’s backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) SoC paired with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, with the option to expand via microSD card up to 200GB.
On the camera front, the device include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie and video calling. The Urbano V03 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs a 2600mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 18.5 hours of talk time on 4G VoLTE and standby time of 690 hours on LTE network. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi with 802.11 a/b/g/n/(2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0, and 3.5mm audio jack. 
Last month, Kyocera had announced the rugged smartphone named DuraForce Pro, which is resistant to drops, shocks, dust, and water. It has Dual 13-megapixel rear camera sensor which is also works as an Action Camera has super wide 135 degree lens and is able to record Full HD 1080p videos. It also features an Action Camera Mount, so you can mount your favriote Action Camera (eg. GoPro) on it to enjoy hasslefree video recording. There is also an LED flash for better low light underwater photography.
