Kindle Oasis: Lightest, Thinnest, Long Battery life and also Expensive priced at $289.99

Amazon has officially launched the new Kindle Oasis, the next generation e-book reader comes with so many upgrades in design and usability, at first glance it looks strange but is expected to bring completely new reading experience for e-book readers.

Kindle Oasis main highlight is its thinnest, the handgrip is 0.13″ thin, overall thinnest is 0.33″ and weighs only 131 grams. Along with Leather Charging Cover accessory that also serves as a source of extra battery to enhance the total juice of the device. New Kindle Oasis has been Amazon’s most expensive e-book reader ever priced at $289.99.

Compared with the most advanced Kindle Voyage, the Oasis is a lot thinner and even lighter. Amazon says Oasis is 20% lighter and 30% thinner than the previous Kindle, so who is already a fan of the Kindle, they will be surprised when holding a new Oasis. Oasis also configures more advanced than Voyage when equipped up to 10 LED backlight system instead of only 6 as Voyage. While the screen size of 6-inches that offer a pixel density of 300ppi remain the same as the Voyage.

Unlike any previous Kindle, the design of Oasis with a thicker edge and a tapered ergonomic handgrip, combined with dedicated page turn buttons located on the handgrip. Whether you choose to read with your left or right hand, Kindle Oasis automatically rotates the page orientation to match.

Oasis features two batteries – one in the e-reader and another in its cover supplied with the device – which together stretch the battery life up to 9 weeks of normal usage like 30 minutes a day defined by Amazon, or months on standby. Amazon calls this a ‘dual battery system’. Its a leather cover available in Black, Merlot and Walnut color options. The Oasis and its cover charge simultaneously via one port.

With this new Kindle Oasis, Amazon is “looking to keep their e-reading on the cutting edge,” Hildrick-Smith said. “What it’s not doing is appealing to people who aren’t already reading e-books.” Now Amazon has started to take pre-order for Oasis priced at $289.99 and it will ship on 27th April 2016.
