Huawei Mobile has officially announced the Honor V8 in China, one of the first smartphone in its new V line up. Huawei Honor V8 also feature dual camera system, which we had seen on the successor Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus with 12MP dual Leica camera.
The Huawei Honor V8 is available in Gold, Pink. White, Gray, and Silver color variants. It has been priced at 2499 Yuan – approximately $383 USD for full-HD display and 32GB storage variant whereas the Quad-HD display and 64GB storage variant costs 2799 Yuan – approximately $429 USD in China. This Huawei Phones is now available for registrations starting today on 10th May and will start shipping from 17th May 2016. There is no information on the global roll out yet.
The Honor V8 comes in two different versions, one with a 5.7-inch 2.5D curved IPS display with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels is rated to deliver a pixel density 389ppi, while the other version with 5.7-inch 2.5D curved IPS display with QHD 2K resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels is rated to deliver a higher pixel density 515ppi. It is powered by Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz paired with Mali-T880 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and comes with 32GB/64Gb of native storage that can be further expanded up to 128 GB with the help of microSD card.
The Honor V8 flaunts dual 12-megapixel rear primary camera with PDAF, laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The dual rear camera can capture 3D photos and also record videos in 2K resolution. This Huawei Android Phone also comes with company’s own virtual payment system called “Huawei Pay” for ultimate virtual reality experience. The handset has a fingerprint sensor with 3D recognition technology to unlock the device and also click stills.
The Honor V8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS based on EMUI 4.1 on top of it. It has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/microSD) support and has a full metal body. It packs in a 3500mAh battery that supports fast charging technology along with the 9V/2A charger is rated to deliver up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 6 hours of video playback time.
On the connectivity front, the Honor V8 comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C as connectivity options.
