HTC’s latest U11 smartphone has received Amazon Alexa support in USA last week and now the HTC U11 UK variant has received support for Amazon Alexa with a software update and a dedicated app, and this means that UK users will now also be able to wake up U11 by simply saying “Alexa” and give any instruction of their preference.
HTC U11 UK Alexa integration news was first published via Paul O’Brien on its Twitter account which shows us a screenshot of the HTC Alexa app successfully being downloaded to his handset. The screenshot also shows us that the support for Alexa will be next coming to the Germany soon.
To use Amazon’s Alexa assistant on HTC U11, users can assign the Edge Sense feature to the digital assistant, which will allow them to squeeze the smartphone from sides and launch Alexa. They can simply say Alexa or tap the HTC Alexa app’s icon.

Google Assistant which is already working on HTC U11 smartphones by long pressing the Home button. With HTC Alexa, users can “shop for birthday presents. Create a shopping list. Get a Flash Briefing from your favorite news sources. Listen to music, audiobooks, and so much more. Voice commands like ‘Alexa, what’s the weather today?’ are covered too,” the app description says on Google Play store.
HTC U11 smartphone comes with the Edge Sense feature bringing a completely new category of interaction with the smartphone. It comes with the HTC Edge Sense feature, it lets you launch the camera, and send texts. You can customize the squeeze gesture to open an email, and even launch your favorite app or game. When users activate advanced touch mode, they can use a “short squeeze” as well as a “squeeze and hold” for even more functionality at your fingertips. The HTC U11 squeeze feature works while wearing gloves as well, as Edge Sense is based on the actual pressure applied to the side of the device.
HTC U11 has been priced at £649.00 and can be purchased via Amazon store in UK, it comes in Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, and Ice White color options.
