HP Omen 15 2017 with Kaby Lake and GTX 1050 Announced

The HP Omen 15 2017 gaming laptop is now available in a Kaby Lake configuration, and has been priced at $1,319.95. Being called the PC maker’s first true gaming laptop, the HP Omen Laptop was first unveiled globally in November last year. The newest HP Gaming Laptop model, the HP Omen 15 2017 features a seventh generation Intel processors Kaby Lake and Nvidia graphics cards of the GeForce series 1000. 

Coming to the HP Omen 15-X7R21AV, features a 15.6-inch IPS UWVA anti-glare display WLED backlit and full-HD (1920×1080 pixel) resolution with capacitive multi-touch. This new model runs on a seventh-generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor (6MB Cache, 2.8GHz-3.8GHz) Kaby Lake, coupled with 16GB of DDR4-2133 SDRAM (2x8GB). It features a 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD + 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA drive. The gaming laptop also features a dedicated graphics card – an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with 4GB of GDDR5 video RAM.

Connectivity options on the HP Omen 15 2017 include Intel 802.11ac (2×2) Wi-Fi, Intel WiDi, Miracast, Bluetooth 4.2, SD card reader, HDMI port, Mini DisplayPort v1.2, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1 x USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone/ microphone port. Users are expected to use the bundled HP USB Ethernet adaptor for LAN connectivity. It is powered by a 4-cell Lithium-ion battery, weighs 5.19 lbs, and measures 0.96 x 15.06 x 9.94 inches.

The HP Omen 15 2017 features dual front-facing Bang & Olufsen speakers with multi-color lighting, an extra wide touchpad, and HP TrueVision full-HD web camera. The keyboard on the HP Omen is a customisable RGB-backlit (seven zones of multicolour lighting) offering with key spacing and travel optimised for gaming, as well as six programmable function keys. 

In addition, HP has also announced Omen 15-ax201nc, priced at 1,330 EUR, which come with a 16GB of RAM, a combo of 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD storage plus 1TB HDD, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5). And the Omen 15-ax202nc variant with the same seventh generation Kaby Lake processor, 16GB of RAM, similar storage and GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5) GPU. But this HP Omen 15.6 Laptop comes with (3840 x 2160 pixels) matte UWVA IPS display.
