HP Elite x2 1012 G2 with Kaby Lake, 16GB RAM Announced

HP has launched the new Elite x2 1012 G2 convertible laptop. This is a premium segment 2-in-1 tablet is designed for commercial business uses and will be available in Europe in early June for a base price of Euro 1,099.

The HP Elite x2 1012 G2 is an evolution of the consumer-grade version, that’s now been customized for business users. It’s built using milled CNC aluminum, has a built-in kickstand and a 12.3-inch ultra-slim LED-backlit touchscreen display with WQXGA (2736 x 1824 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Elite x2 G2 is based on Intel’s 7th generation Kabt Lake – Core i7, i5 and i3 processors and is ship with Thunderbolt 3.

The HP Elite x2 1012 G2 will also ship with the HP Active Pen, co-developed with Wacom, which features over 2048 point of pressure sensitivity. You can pair the hybrid with HP’s optional Advanced Keyboard which integrates a smart card reader inside or the Travel Keyboard, which is thinner and lighter. Both keyboards are built from the same milled aluminum, making them fairly durable.

HP also looks at security, offering the best of its capabilities: HP Client Security Gen3; Microsoft Defender, Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0), fingerprint sensor, and IR camera for face authentications. It comes with Intel HD graphics 620; up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM paired with up to 256GB M.2 SATA SSD and up to 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD.

Other interesting features worth mentioning are: USB 3.1 Type-C with Thunderbolt 3 with Docking Station for powering dual-2K displays, USB 3.0, Intel Dual Band WiFi AC, Bluetooth 4.2, microSD, SIM slot and 3.5 mm combo jack. It comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED indicator and an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash that works with Windows Hello. Battery life up to 10 hours with USB Type-C adapter for fast charging. It measures 30 x 21.97 x 0.91 cm (tablet), 30 x 21.97 x 1.46 cm (with keyboard); and weighs 0.8 kg (tablet) or 1.33 kg (with keyboard).
