Grado Hemp Headphone Limited Edition: Pre-Order Open for $420

Grado has just introduced a new limited edition headphone for happy or dreamy people named the Grado Hemp Headphones. The headphone has an interesting design with all types of woods and materials.

Grado Hemp Headphone

This is the first Hemp headphone of its kind since the Brooklyn Company’s endless quest to experiment with different wood and materials and, despite not being very confident at first, the results have been very satisfactory.

The Grado team draws inspiration from their experience in making the first devices they marketed in previous limited editions. What they learned from working with exotic wood, such as cocobolo, they were able to adjust the controllers to work together with the surrounding wood.

New Grado Hemp Headphone still has the traditional Grado open-back headphones style, but the maple shell is impregnated with hemp concentration and the scent of the logo is engraved. The wood texture is wavy and psychedelic.

The highly compressed hemp creates a cushioning effect between its fibers. It produces a fuller sound, composed of a remarkably low end and a high end that gradually extends to its limits.

When the hemp is carrying the load, Grado incorporates the maple into the casing to help balance the sound and highlight the soundproofing properties and expose the sound properties that they knew maple production can do. Bringing Maple into the mix gave them some foreshadowing, but only through trial and error were they able to make drivers sound the way they wanted and bring the capability to the Hemp.

According to Grado, these new wood headphones will have a more fun sound quality than previous headphones and the product will be produced in limited quantities. With a dynamic transducer, they have a frequency response between 13 Hz and 28 kHz, an SPL 1mW of 98, and a normal impedance of 38 ohms.

So if you want to have fun with these ‘cool’ headphones, make sure to book them early. Grado’s headphones have always had an impressive sound quality but the comfort is not high, although, with their design and sound quality, it’s really impressive.

Price and availability

The Grade Hemp Headphone will be on sale soon, currently are up for pre-order through the Bhphotovideo.com for a price of $420.
