The Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones received a new upgraded Pixel Launcher included in Pixel 2 with Android Oreo 8.1. The new update, already distributed via server, almost a month after from the official release of the first Android 8.1 Developer Preview.
Coming with new features, we find the search bar located at the bottom of the screen, the fully transparent app drawer, and an integrated search engine optimization in the app drawer. Unlike the previous version, where search was limited to installed apps only, the new search bar includes all the features of the main Google app with history, past searches, apps, contacts, music, and more.
All new features will be available on compatible devices over the next few hours through a server upgrade. If you have already received them, please let us know in your comments.
