Gionee S Plus with USB Type-C, Face Unlock and Android 5.1 Lollipop Launched in India

Recently, Gionee has published a teaser in social networks dedicated to its new smartphone named Gionee S Plus. According to that picture, the upcoming handset will receive a USB Type-C port, support fast charging and unlock the device by scanning the user’s face.

And today, Goinee India has officially launched the Gionee S Plus device and also adds that the handset sold on both Indian popular e-commerce portal Amazon and Flipkart, this Gionee smartphone price is set to Rs. 16,490 and available in three Dark Blue, White and Gold color options.

As per the Gionee S Plus specifications, the device is equipped with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution of 720×1280 pixels that can rated to deliver pixel density of 267ppi and the screen is also covered by a protective Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It comes powered by a 1.3 GHz Octa-core processors that backed by 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 chipset and energized with Mali-T720 GPU along with 3GB of RAM.

According to the latest information on-board, Gionee S Plus will come packed a 3150mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with firm’s own Amigo UI 3.1. In addition, the smartphone will receive a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED-flash and autofocus, while front-facing camera of 5-megapixel for self portraits and video chatting. On native storage, it bears a 16GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 64GB with the help of microSD card.

The Gionee S Plus support dual SIM card slots include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA +, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS and USB Type-C with fast charging.

At on the launch event of the Gionee S Plus, Mr. Timir Baran Acharyya GM, Gionee India said, “We have introduced the all new S Plus especially in India this Diwali to meet all the expectations that our consumers are asking for. In fact, the all new S Plus is equipped with new features like Face Unlock that would help consumers unlock there device in less than a second.”
