Gionee on Monday unveiled two new mid-range smartphones in its ‘M Series’, the Gionee M7 and Gionee M7 Power (Gionee Big Gold Steel 2), in China. Both the smartphones have a large 18:9 Full view display and all metal body. The Gionee M7 has been priced at CNY 2,799 – approximately $422 and will go on sale from September 26 in Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, Maple Red, Champagne Gold and Black colors; while the Gionee M7 Power has been priced at CNY 1,999 – approximately $301 and it will be available in China from September 30 in Blue, Black, and Gold color options.
The hybrid-SIM Gionee M7 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0 and features a 6.01-inch FHD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) FullView AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display. The new Gionee smartphone is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P30 16nm processor, coupled with ARM Mali-G71 MP2 GPU and 6GB of RLPDDR4X RAM.
Sporting a 16-megapixel rear autofocus camera with f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens and secondary 8-megapixel camera sensor with LED flash, the M7 also sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and rear fingerprint sensor, a highlight of the device. It bears 64GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS and NFC. The Gionee M7 is backed by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging, measures 157 x 76 x 7.2mm and weighs 180 grams.
Coming to the Gionee M7 Power / Big Gold Steel 2, the smartphone features a 6.0-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0 interface.
It supports hybrid-SIM and handset is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It packs 64GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card up to 256GB. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and Micro-USB. Measuring 156.3 × 75.6 × 8.6mm and weighs 187 grams, the Gionee M7 Power will be backed by a 5000mAh battery with fast charging.
