GDrive Mobile Pro SSD at IFA 2018: As Fast As the Samsung SSD X5

GDrive is now part of WD, and now the SSD itself named Mobile Pro SSD has been announced at IFA 2018. Its speed is equivalent to Samsung’s SSD X5 because of the same interface NVME 2.0 and Thunderbolt 3.0. The difference lies in the style.

High-speed drives are made not only for storage but also for direct work. For example, you can set up the video, processing the image when the video and the image are on the external drive rather than having to copy to the machine as before.

The difference of the GDrive Mobile Pro SSD compared to Samsung Portable SSD X5 is more beautiful design, stronger, more durable. However, it is much larger than the X5. Both do not have a built-in Thunderbolt cable, which we use with external cables attached to the port. This is a point we do not like on two high-speed external SSDs were displayed at this year’s IFA event.
