Garmin Varia Vision is a new cycling accessory from the company, unlike Google Glass, this Garmin device is developed for those who like cycling. On the Varia Vision screen can display information about distance, efficient workout as well as directions and other information.
When combined with an Edge road cycling accessories or a Garmin Varia Radar, the Garmin Varia Vision In-sight Display becomes a powerful heads-up display. When used with the Varia Rearview Radar, you can receive incoming-vehicle warnings, vibrating alerts when you’re completing laps, leaving a workout zone, or even receiving a call or text. In other words, you can not use Varia Vision as individual device, we must combine it with a Garmin edge or a varia rearview radar.
The Garmin Varia Vision In-sight Display uses ANT+ to communicate with other devices, a proprietary wireless connection developed by Garmin. Its weight just 28gram glass, is rated to deliver up to 8-hour of battery life, and can be mounted on most any pair of sport-sunglasses. It features a 240 x 428 pixel resolution screen will automatically reorients itself whenever the device power turned on.
There is a built-in accelerometer keeps tabs on your rate of travel, and the ambient light meter ensures the display is visible even on the brightest days. The device has been certified by IPX7 rating means it will survive temporary immersions.
