Garmin has introduced a compact wearable sensor called Running Dynamics Pod to collect your running and fitness progress data. It has an accelerometer in the module that measures torso movement to calculate these six running metrics.

Garmin Running Dynamics Pod computes and sends six running dynamics metrics to your compatible device. It can be easily clips onto your waistband to measure the running dynamics and gives you the option to run without a heart rate monitor chest strap. Once paired with your compatible device like Garmin smartwatch or any other sports watch, just clip it to the back and center of your waistband and start your run.

Running Dynamics Pod collects information, view and analyze important running metrics such as your cadence, stride length, ground contact time and balance, vertical oscillation and vertical ratio.
