Fujifilm has made official the new X-A5 mirrorless camera with the new Fujinon XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ zoom lens in the past few hours. The new camera body is part of the entry-level market and offers a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, accompanied by a phase detection autofocus system, Bluetooth connectivity for file transfer and the ability to record videos in 4K resolution.
The Fujifilm X-A5 design is based on other Fuji mirrorless camera houses, with a retro style. The camera body offers a touch display in the back that can be rotated 180 degrees, and there is no audio jack. The declared battery life is up to 450 shots with a single charge.
Along with the new Fuji X-A5, the company also announced a new lens that will be included in the X-A5 camera bundle. Let’s talk about a telephoto zoom lens that expands the range of lenses dedicated to the X series. Specifically, the complete name that will distinguish this lens is the following: XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ, the first electric-powered zoom lens for the X Mount.
This lightweight and compact zoom make the photographic experience easier and the lens has the minimum working distance of just 5cm*4, ideal for clear close-up shots. It has smooth electric-powered zooming mechanism that starts from the wide-angle 23mm end (on a 35mm format) for both still images and video.
All this in a compact body, certainly light in weight, and when combined with the new collapsible FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ, the X-A5 weighs just 496 grams.
The Fuji X-A5 offers a High-Speed HD Video function, allowing users to record HD video up to quad speed for slow-motion clips. The Multi-Focus Mode automatically synthesizes 4K quality images with changing the depth of field setting. It also supports Bluetooth technology for the quick, easy and automatic transfer of still images and videos to paired smartphones and tablet devices.
