Along with the Fujifilm X-T4, the company has also announced the Instax Mini 11 instant camera: a continuation of the popular Instax Mini 9, adding some popular features like auto exposure, an updated design, and even a macro mode.
Like the Instax Mini 9 before, the Instax Mini 11 takes Instax Mini instant film and uses the same 60mm lens with 2 elements. But it’s not just a spiritual successor with a new number on the label, Fuji has also added some useful functions.
The body of the Mini 11 has a rounder and more modern, which also makes it a bit slimmer. There’s a selfie mirror at the end of the lens, but there’s now a selfie mode that you can activate by simply pulling the front of the lens barrel out until you see the selfie mode mark. This function also serves as a macro mode by reducing the minimum focus distance of just 0.3 m without the need to add a lens cap.
Fuji has also added automatic exposure to the Mini 11, which now automatically adjusts the shutter speed and flash output based on ambient light, rather than relying on a rudimentary dial like the Mini 9.
Price and Availability
The Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 will be available in 5 colors – Sky Blue, Lilac Purple, Ice White, Charcoal Gray, and Blush Pink – and comes with two different shutter button covers for customization. It can be pre-ordered through Bhphotovideo.com for $69.95 and will be available in mid-March 2020.
Finally, Fujifilm announced two new varieties of Instax films as well. The Instax Mini Blue Marble and Instax Square White Marble. Both have marble print frames and should be sold for the same $14.99 for 10 exposures on BH Photo store.
