Fujifilm launches GF 50mm F3.5 R LM WR and XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR Lenses: Price and Availability

Fujifilm introduced two new Fujinon XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR compact lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras and GF 50mm F3.5 R LM WR lens for its GFX medium format system.

The new lens of the GF series is by far the smallest and lightest in the series and weighs in at 335 grams. The Fujifilm GF 50mm F3.5 R LM WR lens brings out the full potential of the FUJIFILM GFX 50S and GFX 50R mirrorless digital cameras, and they fully support the 100MP image sensor of the recently launched GFX 100. It has a weather-sealed construction which makes it dust and weather resistant and capable of operating in temperatures down to 14°F (-10°C).

The lens consists of 9 elements in 6 groups and includes one aspherical lens element to minimize spherical aberration and barrel distortion. The lens is perfect for both moving and static objects – autofocus of the lens is very smart and silent. In addition, it featuring a maximum aperture of 3.5 and focal length of 50mm (equivalent to 40mm in the 35mm film format).

The Fujifilm GF 50mm F3.5 R LM WR will be available in late September for $999.95 and can be pre-ordered through Bhphotovideo.com.

The Fujifilm XF16-80mm f4 for APS-C mirrorless cameras, designed specifically for maximum efficiency with the X-Trans CMOS sensors. The lens allows you to focus at a distance of 35cm, this glass is certainly the ideal choice for photographers and directors who require flexibility in their work, without loss of image quality. It is a small, compact and versatile lens for any shooting conditions, weighing only 440g, as much as 40%lighter than a 35mm lens.

The lens is equipped with image stabilization and can absorb any vibrations from the camera shutter. The new lens is weather-sealed in ten places along the barrel, it is capable of operating in temperatures down to 14°F (-10°C). It is equipped with quiet and fast autofocus, as well as good color reproduction.
