FiiO M15 Flagship DAP with Dual AK4499 DAC, 10 op-amp, Exynos7872 SoC announced

FiiO held a big event to introduce new audio products. The flagship product was FiiO M15 player receives the most attention when it changes from the design language to internal hardware components. The expected price of FiiO M15 is up to $1459.99, but you can purchase it now for $1,439.99 through HiFigo.com online store.

The first point to mention that the M15 will use a completely new design called Classic Column Modeling. Enhancing the ability to hold a solid hand and consistent look. The body of the device uses aluminum-magnesium alloy material, CNC lathe precision to every detail.

The player controls are located on the left. Three headphone output ports with a control cluster on the top of the music player. Corning Gorilla Glass screen with an Oleophobic Nano Coating. Multi-touch screen, 1440x720p resolution, 16.7 million colors, and 312ppi. The back of the FiiO M15 player still has the same carbon fiber patterns as on the FiiO M11 Pro series have.

It uses Exynos 7872 CPU from Samsung (2 core A73, 4 core A53) along with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and supports a Micro SD card up to 2TB. It uses the same Android operating system as FiiO M11. It also supports Dual Band Wifi 5GHz for fast transfer and streaming speeds.

The Bluetooth part uses a CSR8675 flagship chip, supports Bluetooth 5.0 standard along with a full range of advanced codecs AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL, LDAC and latency, transmission speed, anti-interference much better than M11 Pro. The product uses a 2-way connection that can transmit to the Bluetooth headset or receive from phones and computers. This helps the M15 meet JAS Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless standards.

It uses an XMOS system control IC chip, XUF208, which enables the product to decode music quality up to PCM 32bit / 768kHz and DSD512 with lower latency and an independent anti-jamming pulse counting system. The new generation FPGA chip processes Actel’s pre-decoding signal to ensure accurate signal and correct timing errors and jitter.

It comes with a pair of Femtosecond Crystal Oscillators clock from NDK, Japan. The most important is that the product uses Dual AK4499 DAC chip, AKM’s exclusive new LSI audio processing system that helps specifications such as THD+N and SNR to extremely low, the lowest on the current player model. This product also marks the close cooperation between AKM and FiiO, from development to completion of the product. The internal circuit of FiiO M15 is designed True-Balanced with an independent 4-channel amplifier system and comes with Gold plated 8-layer PCB.

Especially with the M15, FiiO uses a special isolation system that avoids the processing signal of the CPU and Bluetooth from being jammed to the audio processing circuits. The FiiO M15 player still supports 3 headphone output ports, currently 3.5 mm single-ended, 2.5mm Balanced and 4.4mm Balanced. The audio system uses up to 10 Op-Amp low-noise (OPA2211 x2, OPA1612 x4, OPA1622 x4) for THD + N, Noise Floor and SNR of the lowest output in the FiiO series ever. Large capacity up to 25.5Vpp, 280mW at 300 Ohm Balance mode and 800mW at 32 Ohm Balanced is extremely powerful. In addition, the single-ended port is also significantly upgraded compared to the previous generation FiiO M11 Pro.

The new power supply system helps to ensure that the electrical signal is free from interference and is completely independent for decoding and amplification channels. Especially, the audio circuit is equipped with advanced capacitors such as ESR Tantalum, Panasonic electrode-less film. ADC control volume cluster familiar on FiiO products and battery capacity up to 7490mAh also supports 21W fast charging. Continuous music playback time of 15 hours and 1800 hours in sleep mode.

The user experience is greatly improved with an intelligent multitasking button, the volume slider prevents accidental volume. Double Tap to open the screen. Improve your experience with the FiiO Music software. New All to DSD system for smoother, quieter sound quality than the previous generation. Pure Music Mode and Android Mode as on previous FiiO music players.

Fully decode (8x) MQA music format. Bidirectional USB Type-C can serve as USB-DAC for computers or output OTG for separate DACs. Users can still choose to export SPDIF similar to the previous FiiO player.
