The BTR5 Bluetooth Amplifier was introduced by FiiO last year, this is a flagship High Fidelity Bluetooth stereo receiver product is equipped with a balanced 2.5mm port, Dual DAC ES9218P, FPGA and full of high-end codecs today.

FiiO BTR5

FiiO BTR5 was introduced as a portable Balanced DAC/Amp product with Bluetooth connectivity. It is capable of decoding DSD 256 standard and PCM 384kHz thanks to the ability to connect via USB-C (Class 2.0) and XMOS XUF208 USB Receiver chip. Bluetooth wireless connectivity is handled by a Qualcomm CSR8675 Receiver chip and a 120MHz DSP processor that supports Bluetooth 5.0 standard and a range of high-end codecs such as AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL, and LDAC) that can transmit 24-bit/96kHz quality.

The signals from the two inputs will be handled by an FPGA set that corrects the timing of the signal with dual crystal oscillator frequencies of 45MHz, 49MHz and adjusts the Digital Signal Filter before passing through the decoding circuit. FiiO BTR5 uses two ESS Saber DAC/Amp chips of ESS Saber that run in Balanced mode when you plug in 2.5mm Balanced wired headphones. In the case of using a single-ended 3.5mm headset, the product will use only one ES9218P chip.

If you want to make the most of FiiO BTR5, users should use a 2.5mm balanced output of up to 480mW (240mW per channel) in an extremely small body. With the 3.5mm single-ended port, the power level is also reduced quite a bit by only 160mW (80mW) per channel. The BTR5 product is also very intelligent in conversation when it is possible to adjust the priority using the integrated microphone on the headset provided that the CTIA compatible headphone jack (does not support OMTP standard). It also comes with a high-end omnidirectional microphone and the ability to filter noise during calls using cVc 8.0 noise cancellation.
