Denon has announced the new DRA-800H, a 2-channel stereo network receiver for home theater with extensive features. The Denon DRA-800H provides you a high-quality audio performance listening to analogue and digital sources. The amplification section uses a symmetrical design with discrete components. The power supplied is equal to 100 W per channel (8 ohm, 20Hz – 20kHz, THD: 0.08%, 2 piloted channels).
The digital-to-analog conversion is entrusted to an AKM AK4458 DAC, the same that we find in many home theater amplifiers such as the AVR-X1600H and AVR-X2600H announced back in May. Denon DRA-800H can play files in MP3, WMA, AAC, and also supports songs in high resolution in DSD (2.8 and 5.6 MHz), FLAC 192kHz / 24-bit, ALAC to 96 kHz / 24- bit, 192 kHz / 24-bit WAV and AIFF.
The possible connection offered is many: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB and AirPlay 2. With HEOS Built-in technology play the same song in every room or select a different song for each connected room — the choice is yours. Also supports Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, TuneIn, Sound Cloud, Tidal and more. HEOS works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, providing effortless voice control.
The amplifier is also equipped with 5 inputs and 1 HDMI 2.0b output with HDCP 2.3, a very rare feature for this type of product. Video signals with resolution up to Ultra HD 50/60 Hz, 10-bit color depth, Rec.2020, HDR10 and HLG are supported. For video players, it is very interesting to be able to manage Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) on compatible TVs. This function introduced with HDMI 2.1, allows you to automatically select the best settings to ensure prompt response to commands.
The equipment is completed by the FM / DAB + radio, the 2 analogue inputs on RCA paired by 1 phono input, the output to manage a Zone 2, the outputs for 2 subwoofers, 2 optical and 1 coaxial digital inputs and the connectors for two pairs of speakers (or bi-wiring).
