Dell would be ready to bring the new Latitude 5840 – a high-end notebook to market with a 14-inch display and hardware platform based on Intel technology. According to the report from the laptopmedia portal, Dell will present the Dell Latitude 5840 notebook about in a month (probably in early April) at a base price of $2,000.
Some technical details are missing of this new Dell Laptop like what type of display panel used by the manufacturer, but we know that the notebook will have a weight of about 1.6kg. As for the CPU, instead, Dell has arranged the powerful Intel Core i7-7820HQ processor, obviously coupled with the DDR4 type of RAM (unknown capacity). There are also the most sought for extra stuffs like SIM card slot, WWAN, WiGig, camera with iris recognition, smart card slot, fingerprint reader and touchscreen.
Finally, a Thunderbolt 3 port interface which offers the possibility to use an external graphics dock, option to be evaluated considering that the base model of the Dell Latitude 5840 is equipped with a GeForce 930 MX GPU.
Last month at CES 2017, Dell has introduced the Latitude 5285 2-in-1 laptop which offers ultimate mobility, and is designed to be powerful, secure and last all day. Its weight is around 1.23kg, a 12.3-inch Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass; powered by seventh-generation Intel Core processors (with U Dual Core or vPro options) coupled with Intel HD Graphics 620; 4GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 RAM, which expanding up to 16GB of RAM.
