Dell updates its gaming laptop series and officially introduced four new G series laptops featuring displays up to 17-inches, latest-generation Intel Core CPUs and dedicated Nvidia GeForce Max-Q graphics. The models are Dell G3 15, G3 17, G5 15 and G7 15 Gaming Laptops.
Let’s start with the entry-level model Dell G3 Gaming Laptop, the only one will be available in two screen sizes: 15.6-inches and a 17.3-inches display. Dell uses an IPS FHD panel (non-touch) managed by an Nvidia GeForce GPU configurable in GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Max-Q, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB and GeForce GTX 1050 4GB options.
As for the processor, the company offers two choices, the Core i7-8750HQ or the Core i5-8300HQ processors, both quad-core and fueled by DDR4 2666MHz RAM (maximum up to 32GB). Storage is configurable with SSD PCI-E, SSD SATA in combination with 5400 RPM mechanical hard drive (500GB or 1TB).
Dell G3 offers a full-sized backlit keyboard, WiFi AC and Bluetooth 4.2 / 5.0 connectivity, Gigabit LAN, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1 gen 2, and USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 3 (optional) options.
Dell G5 15 incorporates many of the features of the G3 15, but in this case, the user will have an additional choice for the 15.6-inch panel, IPS FHD or IPS UHD without touch option.
Finally, the Dell G7 15 is the top-of-the-range option and the only one to support the latest Intel Core i9-8950HQ 6-core processor with Hyper-Threading and frequencies up to 4.8 GHz. The hardware will be configurable but does not provide any new features compared to the other models.
As for prices instead, Dell G3 15 starts at $749, a figure that rises to $799 for the G3 17 and Dell G5 15. The top Dell G7 15 will be priced at $849.
