Dell announces updates for the Alienware 15 and 17 series Gaming laptops and launches the new Dell G3, Dell G5 and Dell G7 mid-range gaming laptops with 15- and 17-inch screens. In this article, we will deal with the first ones, renewed in the technical data sheet and in the finishes.
Dell Alienware 15 (R4) and 17 (R5) gaming laptops will now feature 8th generation Intel Core i5, i7, and i9 processors with up to 6 cores. Along with this, they will allow for overclocking for up to 5.0GHz, the first time ever on the company’s most powerful laptops. In order to this, Dell claims it mechanically engineered Alienware Cryo-Tech v2.0, its bespoke cooling solution with 50 percent thinner fan blades and a vapour chamber on the CPU to cool cores efficiently.
Dell has refined the cooling system (Alienware Cryo-Tech 2.0) with fans with 50% thinner blades and a liquid/steam plate on the CPU, now accessible by a dedicated flap). Furthermore, this year, Alienware 15 R4 and Alienware 17 R5 are also available in Epic Black color.
Furthermore, users can overclock seamlessly with Alienware Command Center for laptops which also allow for 13 programmable lighting zones supporting full RGB on Alienware 15 and 17 keyboards. Other additions include support for external desktop graphics via the Alienware Graphics Amplifier, optional 120Hz TN+WVA 400-nits display designed with Nvidia Gsync. GPU options include Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, 1070, and 1080 graphics or an AMD Radeon RX570 with 8GB DDR5.
The configurations have TN panels of 15.6 or 17.2 inches (120 Hz) or IPS (60 Hz) with anti-reflection and Full HD, QHD or UHD resolution, proposed in G-Sync variant and with integrated Tobii Eye-Tracking technology (only 17 inches). The CPUs go from the Core i5-8300HQ Quad Core (only 15 inches) to the 6-core Core i9-8950HK. From this year, there is a new design for the system speakers and full NKRO support on the Alienware TactX keyboard with 2.2 mm stroke.
Dell Alienware 15 and 17 ware available on Dell’s website in US, China, and Europe. The Alienware 15 price is $2,400 with additional configurations starting $1,450 from April 10 while the Alienware 17 price is $3,700 with additional configurations starting $1600 also from April 10, 2018.
