Crucial has expanded its memory upgrade of P series SSD with the launch of the Crucial P5 PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. This new internal SSD equipped with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and support the NVMe 1.3 protocol. They are available in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB NVMe storage options.
The sequential read speed reaches 3400 MB/s, and sequential write speed is up to 3000 MB/s (1400 MB/s in the case of a model with a capacity of 250GB), which is higher than that of medium-class P1 and P2 Crucial SSDs. The P5 uses DRAM caching to increase speed and Micron 3D NAND technology is used in SSDs.
The PCIe NVMe SSD drive also includes Crucial Storage Executive and Acronis True Image Crucial SSD tool to manage the drive’s health and to back up essential data. It has a mean time to failure (MTTF) rating of over 2 million hours, with over 600 written to help ensure its longevity and reliability.
