LG has officially announced the new high-end LCD TV range, waiting to see the one of the best Super UHD TV products at CES 2017 (January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas). The new “Super UHD TV” series (the words used by the Korean manufacturer for more advanced 4K TV products) will be three models including: SJ9500, SJ8500 and SJ8000. The panels used are IPS type LCD with Ultra HD resolution and featuring all new Nano Cell technology.
The Nano Cell technology will render the most realistic images possible, creating highly nuanced, accurate colors while enabling wider viewing angles. It offers a technological advantage by employing uniformly-sized particles approximately one nanometer in diameter to create more subtle, accurate colors that can be viewed from wider angles than other TVs. Nano Cell achieves such impressive results by absorbing surplus light wavelengths, enhancing the purity of the colors displayed on the screen.
New Nano Cell TVs use improved ULTRA Luminance technology to deliver brighter, crisper image highlights. All of LG’s SUPER 4K HDR TV models offer Active HDR with Dolby Vision allowing for multiple HDR formats, granting users access to the full spectrum of high-quality HDR content. And with the latest version of LG’s intuitive webOS smart TV platform, powerful audio capabilities coupled with the thin, aesthetically pleasing design of every LG SUPER UHD TV model
LG SUPER UHD TVs with Nano Cell deliver consistent colors at wider viewing angles with virtually no color difference for viewers seated directly in front of the screen and those watching from a 60 degree angle. The enhancements are enhanced by a collaboration with Technicolor. This arrangement results in the presence of the video mode “Technicolor Expert Mode “, developed to offer optimal color reproduction.
There will also be the Advanced HDR technology by Technicolor, able to convert SDR sources (Standard Dynamic Range) in HDR. This solution analyzes the images frame by frame and increases the brightness and contrast ratio in specific areas. Complete with the latest LG webOS 3.5, that we will see for the first time at CES 2017. We will have to wait for details of the individual LG Super UHD TV 4K series: in which the 55-inch SJ9500 model featuring Ultra Slim design is only 6.9mm at its thinnest point and comes with the unique crescent-shaped stand.
