After announcing the release date for the IVY REC small digital camera earlier this month, Canon has now introduced the RF 70-200mm F2.8 and 85mm F1.2 DS lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
Both Canon RF lenses are designed for the EOS R and EOS RP cameras and perfect to shoot sports or wildlife photography.
The Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM lens features a large f/2.8 aperture, the 70-200mm focal zoom range, which is an ideal workhorse lens for professional and amateur photographers shooting sports, wildlife, wedding and event action. It is 27% shorter and 28% lighter than its EF counterpart with a large portion of the lens element arrangement closer to the camera body.
This new Canon RF lens features two Nano USM motors providing an even greater level of high-speed autofocus for still image shooting and quiet and smooth autofocus for video shooting. The lens also incorporates a floating focus control, another Canon first, that drives the two lens groups individually while using the two aforementioned Nano USM motors.
The Canon 85mm F1.2L USM DS is the company’s first lens to feature Defocus Smoothing lens coating, along with f/1.2 apertures, designed to enhance the appearance of bokeh in the images captured with the lens. DS coating is a vapor-deposited coating technology that is applied to the front and rear surfaces of a specific lens element inside the lens.
The new lens features the 85mm focal length, an ideal lens for portrait photographers because it provides an appropriate depth and perspective of the subject relative to the background. The focal length also allows for the photographer and subject to maintain optimum distance apart to support strong communication, while not being too close.

The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens has been priced at $2,699 and it can be pre-ordered through Bhphotovideo.com.
The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS Lens is also available to pre-order via Bhphotovideo.com, priced at $2,999 for the lens with Defocus Smoothing.

Along with the new Canon RF lenses, the company has also announced the camera systems with new kits and accessories for content creators. The EOS 90D Video Creator Kit, EOS M200 Content Creator Kit, and the PowerShot G7 X Mark III Video Creator Kit, being released today.
The 90D will be bundled with a 32GB SDHC card and the just-announced DM-E100 Directional Microphone, which slides into a hot shoe and plugs into the camera’s 3.5mm input for improved audio. The compact M200 and G7 X Mark III, on the other hand, come with a 32GB SDHC card and also recently revealed HG-100TBR Tripod Grip, which is a lightweight grip bundled with remote control and can be folded out into a tabletop tripod whenever the situation demands.
