The Canon EOS RP has a 26.2-megapixel full-frame sensor with DIGIC 8, the same image processor as the EOS R, Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, with 4779 selectable on-sensor phase-detection points.
The ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 40000 to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. Additionally, continuous shooting up to 5 fps is possible for working with moving subjects.
The shutter has a vertical slide on the electronically controlled focal plane and is able to shoot at a speed of 30 to 1/4000 of a second in 1/2 or 1/3 stop increments. The white balance is automatic with
The Canon EOS RP has a 0.39-inch EVF color OLED viewfinder with approximately 2.36 million dots, a horizontal / vertical coverage of about 100% and magnifications of around 0.70%. The number of multiple exposures remaining, the AF method used, the battery level, the shutter speed, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Histogram.
The electronic viewfinder is also supplemented with a 7.5 cm (3.0″) adjustable Clear View LCD II capacitance display of about 1.04 million dots, the flash is an E-TTL II with manual measurement.
There is no lack of USB 2.0 connectivity with Type-C port, Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi b / g / n monoband, mini HDMI port (Type C, HDMI-CEC compatible), external line / microphone input (stereo mini jack), jack headphones (mini stereo jack) and E3 terminal (remote control).
The Canon EOS RP has a continuous shooting speed of 5fps and is capable of recording at 4K Ultra HD videos with a 1,56x “crop”. The LP-E17 battery (supplied) guarantees up to about 250 shots.
