Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is the best-selling gaming title in the United States in October, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has to “settle” for a second place: the data disclosed by NPD’s Mat Piscatella underline that Black Ops 4 has triumphed in sales, thus positioning itself at the top of the US gaming ranking.
At the moment, Activision’s home title is the best-selling game of 2018 and, according to Piscatella, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is the eighth title ever for sales in the launch month.
Red Dead Redemption 2 must instead settle for the second step of the podium, but it is necessary to clarify that the acclaimed title of Rockstar, in October, was on the market for only nine days, unlike Call of Duty was on October 12th.
However, Red Dead Redemption 2 recorded excellent sales, tripling what its predecessor did over the same period and, according to data released by Take-Two and Rockstar, in its first three days of presentations on the world market, it generated revenue for a total of 725 million dollars.
In hardware, however, the best-selling console in the United States is PlayStation 4, which then exceeded the units placed by Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, also recording the best single month ever for a Sony console since October 2002, the era of PlayStation 2.
