Blu Tank Xtreme Pro Rugged Smartphone With IP68 and Android N Goes Official

Blu appears set to launch a new Rugged smartphone called the Tank Xtreme Pro. The smartphone has been listed on the company site without price or availability details. The smartphone’s highlight feature is its rugged and durable design, and IP68 certification, allowing users to use the device in extreme conditions.

The dual-SIM Blu Tank Xtreme Pro runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor that’s backed by the MediaTek MTK6737T chipset coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and packs a 2GB of RAM. This new Blu rugged smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display that can translate a pixel density of 294ppi and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Blu Tank Xtreme Pro is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash module. For selfie-lovers, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel camera. You can also record HD videos through the cameras, with a number of additional features.

The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 64GB with the help of microSD card. Apart 3G network technologies, you get GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), FM radio, GPS, A-GPS, USB 2.0 for connectivity options. The Tank Xtreme Pro packs a massive 4300mAh battery is rated to deliver standby time up to 30 days and moderate usage of up to 2 days.

Back in May this year, Blu has unveiled two rugged smartphones – Tank Xtreme 5.0 and Tank Xtreme 4.0, priced at $127.95, and $71.29 respectively.

Both Blu rugged smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and for the connectivity options, both include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack. Both Tank Xtreme 5.0 and Tank Xtreme 4.0 smartphones sport IP65 rating for dust and water resistance as well as have a dual injection shock absorbent frame that serves as a cushion and absorbs the impact. Both run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with 4G LTE connectivity.
