BlackBerry KEY2 LE With 4.5-inch Display, SD 636, Dual Rear Camera Launched

After the launch of the BlackBerry KEY2 back in June this year, the TCL Communication has announced the BlackBerry KEY2 LE at the IFA 2018, which is a cheaper variant of the KEY2. It also has a similar design as the KEY2 which includes a 4.5-inch 3:2 display, 4-row QWERTY physical backlit keyboard, and a fingerprint sensor built into the spacebar.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE price in USA has been set at $399 / €399 / £349 / CAD519 for the 32GB storage variant and $449 / €429 / £399 / CAD579 for the 64GB storage variant and will be available in Germany, the U.K., France, UAE, Canada, and the U.S. beginning next month. The handset comes in Slate, Champagne and Atomic color options.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE features a 4.5-inch 3:2 display with (1620 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 433ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It features a lightweight polycarbonate frame and a new designed soft textured back that will offer a better in-hand grip to prevent drops. The device has a redesigned chassis and also comes with the recently introduced Speed Key for a more customized universal shortcut experience.

The handset is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It packs a 32GB / 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 256GB. It is both thinner and lighter and boasts a redesigned keyboard with keys that are nearly 10 percent larger than those featured on the BlackBerry KEYone.

On the camera front, the KEY2 LE flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera to capture depth information. For selfie, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with LCD flash. The Speed Key is complimented by 52 customizable shortcuts, so you can program each key to instantly bring up the contacts and apps you use most.

The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and packs a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. It supports hybrid SIM slot with dual standby and for connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac. Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio. The device measures 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35 mm and weighs 156 grams.
