Bang & Olufsen will launch new versions of BeoSound 1 and BeoSound 2 speakers with Google Assistant, and AirPlay 2 with integrated Chromecast. Both the new models will use the same design as the models were launched last year and both are characterized by the conical body.
BeoSound 1 measures 16.2 x 32.7 cm. Inside there is a 3.81 cm full-band transducer and a 10.16 cm woofer. To drive them are two Class D amplifiers with a 40W power for the transducer and 20W for the woofer. Connectivity includes an Ethernet port, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.
BeoSound 2 comes with larger sizes. The measures are 19.6 x 43.1 cm. The sound will come from a 1.91cm tweeter, two 5.08cm midranges and a 13.34cm woofer. Four Class D amplifiers deliver 40W power for the tweeter, 11W for each of the midrange and 20W for the woofer. For connectivity, similar as listed for BeoSound 1, an input on 3.5 mm jack is added. However, it does not have an integrated battery.
To make sure that the Google Assistant can hear commands through the wall of sound coming from the speakers, both the Bang & Olufsen speakers have an advanced acoustic echo-canceling technology and five microphones into the aluminum structure that constantly analyses which sounds come from the speaker and which are commands from the consumer.
The products will be available between the mid-September and the beginning of October at a price of $1,750 for BeoSound 1 and $2,250 for BeoSound 2.[amazon box=”B07GLXJLT9″ /] [amazon box=”B07GMBRXYJ” /] [amazon box=”B07GM4XSJM” /] [amazon box=”B07GM8L1SW” /]
