Audio Technica has announced new over ear headphones – ATH-MSR7SE, a Special Edition of the ATH-MSR7. We can see changes both in term of design and the technologies used.
New Audio Technica ATH-MSR7SE headphones are made of premium aluminium and has a metallic navy blue finish with gold colored accents. The earpads and headband are covered with dark brown faux leather and are designed to ensure maximum comfort during long listening sessions. The shape of the earpads is designed to fit the ear, also enhancing the acoustic insulation.
The ATH-MSR7SE uses some technology from ATH-SR9 (a high-end model). The sound is reproduced via 45mm True Motion drivers, equipped with a Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) diaphragm. This solution provides greater stiffness, faster response, and reduced distortion. Audio Technica argues that the new version offers greater fidelity, especially with regard to high frequencies.
The technical specifications report a frequency response of 5Hz to 40kHz and an impedance of 35ohms. The Audio Technica ATH-MSR7SE price is excpected to around £299 and will be available October this year.
