Atomos Shinobi: 5.2-inch HDMI Monitor, Removable Screen Solution for Cameras, Priced at $399

Atomos – the Australian company that specializes in the research and production of Monitor / Recorder – has launched a 5.2-inch wide touch screen HDMI monitor with Full HD (1920×1080) resolution, communicating with cameras and camcorders via HDMI port named Atomos Shinobi.

The Atomos Shinobi brings Vlogger and photographers a perfect look than the LCD built on their devices and Shinobi also integrates the latest features, compact and portable, can go anywhere with a simple disassembly operation.

Atomos Shinobi weighs only 200 grams thanks to the polycarbonate body and used full HD HDR screen and color processing technology similar to Atomos Ninja V has received many awards in recent years. The Shinobi clearly displays images even under daylight thanks to the 10-bit FRC IPS screen, with 1000nit brightness (+ | -10), 427ppi pixel density with special AR coating and anti-fingerprint technology. The Shinobi has an HDMi communication port and receives DCI 4K signals, UHD 4K and HD from other devices, as well as a 3.5mm headphone output jack.

Atomos says the Shinobi comes color calibrated straight from the factory, but also includes calibration support using Atomos’ free software and the X-rite i1Display Pro probe. The Shinobi uses NP-F battery (such as a Sony NP-F750 battery that lasts for 6 hours) and is designed to be centered to ensure balance. It features Atomos’ AtomOS 10 touchscreen interface and all of the features that come with, including focus peaking, histogram, zebras, waveforms, guides, markers, and magnification.

When directly attached and forward with devices that need to be connected, the Shinobi is really a plus point for Vloggers because they can control their frames and actions in the most optimal way. Although it is only a FullHD screen, which supports 60fps, in fact Shinobi accepts 4K 30fps signals only. The display shows more than 10 dynamic range stops when used with Log or HLG format.

Built-in presets are fully compatible with universal camera systems when recording Log or HLG. You can add 8 LUTs to the Shinobi internal storage via SD card and can be used immediately to suit your creativity.
