Two days earlier than expected, Qualcomm has officially confirmed the existence of Asus ZenFone AR, the Asus smartphone based on Project Tango along with Daydream-ready and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, Qualcomm has mistakenly published on the company’s official product page. As you can see in the screenshot image below, the date of submission is 4th January, 2017 at the CES 2017.

In any case, don’t reveal all the specs of the Asus ZenFone AR, except the fact that it is the first Project Tango smartphone to use the Qualcomm’s top of the range SoC – Snapdragon 821. Recall to other only one Tango smartphone currently available in the market is Lenovo PHAB2 Pro, which is equipped with a Snapdragon 652. The Snapdragon 821 Phone – ZenFone AR can significantly increase its power in performance as well as graphics performance, thanks to the presence of the powerful Adreno 530 GPU. Snapdragon 821

Besides support to Project Tango, ZenFone AR is also certified as a Daydream compatible device, then we can imagine that will be introduced with Android 7 Nougat. At this point we just have to wait until the official presentation which will take place in two days and it is possible that the recent Asus tweet was referring precisely to this device, rather than a new top of the range equipped with the much more powerful Snapdragon 835 SoC.
