Asus Zenfone AR has finally got its official launch in India, although the handset was first introduced at CES 2017, after a few months there has been no information received by the world’s first smartphone to support Daydream VR and Tango AR. Asus Zenfone AR price in India is Rs. 49,999 – approximately $775 for the high-end 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM version.
For those who missed the specifications of the Zenfone AR, based on Android version 7.0 Nougat, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor that combined a new vapour cooling system to avoid overheating. Display is AMOLED with a 5.7 inch size and QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution to provide sharp and clear VR experience.
The ZenFone AR is Tango smartphone which designed around machine vision with a camera and sensor setup that provides motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning. The handset also comes with a front fingerprint sensor which embedded in the home button.
The ZenFone AR is also world’s first smartphone with 8GB of RAM as well as the company also added with lower RAM model with 6GB of RAM which is not available in India right now. Based on Android version 7.0 Nougat, ZenFone AR integrates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor (two cores clocked at 2.34GHz and two core clocked at 1.6GHz) that combined a new vapour cooling system to avoid overheating.
On the camera front, the Asus ZenFone AR sports a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 camera sensor with TriTech+ autofocus system, dual-PDAF, second-gen Laser Focus, and continuous focus. The rear camera supports 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS) as well as 3-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS ) for video recording alongside support for 4K video recording at 30 fps quite similar to the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom.
