Astell & Kern has just introduced a new model of high resolution portable audio player named “SA700” with a strange and familiar design inspired by the previous AK120. Currently, the official price for the iriver Astell and Kern SA700 music player has not been officially announced and will be officially launched in December this year.
The Astel product SA700 has been introduced with the slogan “Past Meets Present”. AK120 can be considered as the first flagship player of the company and also the product of Astell & Kern’s name to the present level. SA700 has introduced as Hi-Res music player using retro design, like the AK120 that was introduced 6 years ago but equipped with the latest advanced technology today.
The SA700 uses Dual DAC technology similar to AK120 (one of the first music players in the world to use Dual DAC, and is the foundation for many of the top music players of Astell & Kern later). It is equipped with Dual DAC AK4492ECB chips that allow support for decoding PCM up to 32bit / 384kHz and DSD256 Native (11.2MHz).
The Astell & Kern SA700 has two headphone ports, one single-ended 3.5mm port, one balanced 2.5mm port with a 4Vrms output threshold for balanced port and 2Vrms for a single-ended port. A cluster of 150 digital steps with a specific design of the AK120 series with the familiar bridge. Under the volume knob, there is an LED light that changes color to indicate the bit-depth is being processed on the player.
Inside SA700 is a Quad-Core CPU chip using the new Astell & Kern operating system like the SP2000 models. The product supports installing the app via apk file so that users can use online music streaming services today. It packs 128GB of internal storage and Micro SD card support. It has a 4.1-inch touch screen with 720×1080 resolution makes it easy for users to control the modern functions of the player.
