Astell & Kern launches A & ultima SP2000 Onyx Black Special Edition

After the launch of the SA700 Hi-Fi audio player with dual DAC, Astell & Kern continues to introduce a new “Onyx Black” special edition for the A&ultima SP2000. This special version will still have the unchanged price from the original Astell and Kern SP200 around $3,499 was announced back in May this year, and it can be purchased through the store, but this version has an extremely limited number of units.

If you are interested in high-end music players, you will certainly know that for Astell & Kern A&ultima flagship audio players, there will be two versions: Stainless Steel and Copper. This Onyx Black special edition uses a high-quality PVD coating on the surface of stainless steel. This gives the product a premium matte black finish.

In terms of specifications, the Onyx Black model will be identical to the regular SP2000. This player uses a DUAL DAC with Asahi Kasei’s flagship AK4499EQ chip, which supports decoding PCM 32bit / 768kHz, DSD512 (22.4MHz). Along with the new decoding circuit, the analog audio output is also improved compared to the previous SP1000. V-Link streaming video feature will also be automatically installed on the special edition. The A & Ultima product has an internal storage of up to 512GB and supports MicroSD card up to 1TB, for a total capacity of up to 1.5TB.
