Arturia KeyStep Pro and Arpeggiator: Keyboard With 4 Track Beatstep Sequencer

Arturia’s KeyStep is one of the most popular keyboards for many as it is one of the few compact devices that can send MIDI. BeatStep Pro is also successful, why not a combination? Now it’s here: the Arturia KeyStep Pro!

There are far too few such things, so this combination of BeatStep Pro and KeyStep, but with a three-octave keyboard, is not a bad idea.

In the meantime, Arturia has confirmed the KeyStep Pro and also that it actually offers four real CV channels that have equal rights and also drums. This is also a leap over the BeatStep Pro. Arturia is also said to have a larger polyphonic part that some may already know and have seen.

The KeyStep Pro has 4 tracks and of course, drums, which are pure drum-trigger/gate outputs. The device apparently has MIDI and even pedal connections. It is a powerful 4-part polyphonic sequencer with a 3-octave keyboard, modular gear, analog synthesizers, drum machines, and Arturia software center that allows you to perform and control in perfect unison.

There is four independent music sequencer, controlling whatever synth, module, or drum machine. The sequencer features 16 patterns per track, and each pattern can be up to 64 steps long and contain 16 notes per step. The onboard scene memory takes snapshots of all the sequences within a pattern, letting you instantly switch between sets of sequences.

There are 4 CV, Gate, and Mod outputs, 8 dedicated drum Gate outputs, Clocks, MIDI in, 2 MIDI outs, a solo metronome output, sustain input to let you get expressive with your performance and USB for easy power and DAW/softsynth control. If you like working in the box, the KeyStep Pro easily sequences and arpeggiates your virtual instruments, syncing everything with your software studio. It also has OLED displays and LED-illuminated controls help you see it all in the dim lights of the stage.
