Anker has launched a PowerPort PD 2 compact GaN charger with 2 USB-C ports, both of which support Power Delivery charging configuration with up to 60W capacity, enough for both the MacBook Pro and other USB-C laptops.
The size of this charger is about the same size as Apple’s MacBook, but there are two ports, charging for two devices at the same time, making it more convenient. Anker said that using Gallium Nitride technology, their charger is “the smallest 60W Power Delivery charger on the market today” (there is also a tiny Innergie 60C charger on Amazon, but only 1 USB-C port). With 15 MacBook Pro, this 60W capacity is not as high as the Apple charger, but if you just leave it at home charging and do not need to fold every time it is charging, it is fine. The price of Anker PowerPort PD 2 is $54.99, and it will go on sale on April 29th.
Explain more about Gallium Nitride (GaN), it is a material with a higher level of conductivity than silicon, can withstand higher voltages and run faster through devices. When used for electronic devices, GaN operates more efficiently, has less power loss and is more compact. Replacing all silicon components with GaN can save 10-25% electricity.
