Amazfit Verge is the new Smartwatch announced today by Huami and equipped with heart rate monitoring, GPS and NFC connectivity.
The smartwatch is IP68 certified, although the manufacturer advises against immersing it in water for a long time – for example when swimming. The circular design is minimal and sporty, with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display (43mm diameter) with 360×360 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection (with anti-fingerprint coating).
Amazfit Verge is equipped with 13 pre-installed watch faces, three of which were created in collaboration with San Francisco based Territory Studio. The watch case is made of reinforced plastic, while the interchangeable strap is made of silicone, thus helping to keep the overall weight of the watch extremely low: just 46 grams.
Inside it we find a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and heart rate monitoring feature. The company reveals that the watch comes with a high precision optical sensor with 98% accuracy and up to 80% reduced power consumption. For connectivity, includes GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WiFi and NFC connectivity (also for payments) and two other sensors, one geomagnetic and the other one is air pressure sensors. Thanks to the presence of the GPS you can comfortably use the smartwatch during training sessions even without taking your smartphone with you, monitoring the performance of up to 11 different sports modes.
Amazfit Verge is compatible with the MIJIA smart home app and for the control of 11 different connected smart home products. A final word on the battery, another strength of the Huami watch with up to 5 days battery life with a single recharge.
It is available to buy from today in the Sky Gray color, priced at CNY 799 – approximately $116.
