ADATA launches Ultimate SU800 M.2 2280 SSD for Laptops, Priced from $69.99

ADATA continues to expand its 3D NAND Flash SSD – Ultimate SU800 M.2 2280. This new drive line will deliver high performance, reliability and integrated all features of Ultimate SU800 2.5″ version was introduced earlier this year. The company is targeting to be a reasonable price, and compatibility with ultra-thin models. Ultimate SU800 M.2

The ADATA Ultimate SU800 M.2 2280 solid state drives provides capacities up to 1TB, and will come in a wide range of capacity variants starting from 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Like SU800 2.5″ SSD line, SU800 M.2 line will use Silicon Motion SM2258 microcontroller with 4-channel NAND flash technology and support LDPC ECC error correction.

Memory chips used on M.2 SSD is 3D TLC NAND Flash produced by IMFT. Unlike high speed XPG SX8000 NVMe series, the SU800 M.2 SSD line using SATA 6 Gbps and supports DRAM Cache Buffer as well as intelligent SLC Caching technology to optimize read/write performance.

Performance, ADATA said Ultimate SU800 M.2 2280 can delivers continuous read/write speeds of 560MB/s and 520MB/s for the 256GB version and above, while 128GB version which have slower write speeds of 300 MB/s.

Power consumption of the drive is also quite low, compared with conventional HDDs, the SU800 M.2 consumes only about 8% of electricity is equivalent to less than 80% when stay active thanks to DEVSLP technology. Thus, SU800 M.2 SSD is ideal for use on laptops because it helps prolong battery life. ADATA

Implementing advanced 3D NAND Flash, the SU800 M.2 2280 offers higher density and bigger capacities than 2D NAND Flash SSDs. This means it’s also more efficient and reliable with a better cost-performance ratio. This is why ADATA assert that MTBF life of SU800 M.2 up to 2,000,000 hours, higher than 5,000,000 hours compared to the 2D NAND equipment. Products also covered by the standard 3 years warranty.

The Ultimate M.2 SU800 price is also quite pleasant, $69.99 for 128GB, $84.99 for 256GB, and $149.99 for the 512GB version and will soon be available for purchase via Amazon.com store.
